This is one of Morricone's first Western scores, and it's the one that really shaped what he would do in the future of the genre. The music itself is classic Spaghetti Western, complete with whistling, vocals and trumpets. However, being one of the first scores of its kind, the sound is still a bit of a work in progress. This doesn't make it any less enjoyable, but it isn't quite on par with his later work.
